HRA PLANNING have recently been engaged to make the case supporting a national submission to the EU for variation to the EU TENT-T policy regarding the North Sea-Mediterranean (NS-M) Core (transport) Network Corridor which stretches from Scandinavia in the north to the Mediterranean Sea in the south and incorporates Ireland, the UK, France and the Benelux countries.

The EU TEN-T policy has created the basis for Europe to build a modern integrated transport system that can address sustainable, smart and inclusive growth challenges and to strengthen Europe’s global competitiveness. The corridor alignment for the Irish territory, extending from Belfast to Dublin and Cork, requires redress to take account of the Port of Foynes as a Core National Port and the spatial development objectives supporting continued Port development.
