The Kilcornan Community Development Plan - What is it?

HRA | PLANNING were retained by the Kilcornan Community Council to prepare the Kilcornan Community Development Plan. The requirement for the Plan arose from the objective of the Kilcornan Community Council to provide a long term development plan for the community to ensure well planned and sustainable future development to meet the needs of the community.


How was the Plan prepared?

HRA | PLANNING prepared the Kilcornan Community Plan in 2012.
We provided various methods that enabled the community to engage and discuss community issues, to undertake an evaluation of themselves as a community and to prioritise their preferred physical and community objectives. This was achieved through online engagement and highly interactive consultation techniques where the community were responsible for performing several tasks. This process, in addition to the application of proper planning, formed the basis of a detailed community Plan in which a series of social, physical, environmental and commercial objectives are presented with assigned responsibility to pursue their effective implementation.
