HRA PLANNING is delighted to secure Planning Permission in January 2019 for strategic Port development to provide for the Expansion of the Port of Foynes in Co. Limerick on behalf of Shannon Foynes Port Company.

The development extends to provide for 30 hectares of additional landside Port area including open and covered storage and expanded interconnection of existing berthing quay to facilitate Port growth.

This proposal was determined by the Planning Appeals Board – An Bord Pleanála under the provisions of the Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) Act.  The comprehensive and conclusive nature of the submitted planning application and associated Environmental Impact Assessment enabled An Bord Pleanála to determine this planning application rapidly without seeking any ‘Further Information’ and without the need to hold an Oral hearing.

HRA PLANNING were engaged to provide: Planning Application and development strategy; justification for the proposed development; project management of the Environmental Impact Assessment; and consultation with An Bord Pleanála and relevant statutory bodies.   This approach resulted in planning permission being secured within an expedient manner without incurring delays.
