HRA PLANNING Masterplan secures €3m European Port Development funding

Shannon Foynes Port Company

The Shannon Foynes Pot Company Masterplan “Vision 2041” prepared by HRA PLANNING has assisted the Port Company in securing €3million European Ten T funding to advance rail link regeneration with the port and a jetty infill project on the River Shannon.

‘Vision 2041’ masterplan is a strategic economic and spatial development plan prepared for all Ports facilities on the Shannon Estuary between Limerick City and edge of the Shannon Estuary.  Since its preparation by HRA PLANNING, ‘Vision 2041’ has been adopted by Limerick City and County Council to reflect Shannon Foynes Port Company landside operational requirements and which takes into consideration the inherent environmental sensitivity of thy estuary.

SFPC CEO Pat Keating said that “the grant aid not alone provides key funding for two major projects essential for the delivery of the company’s long-term masterplan Vision 2041, but is the most significant acknowledgement yet of the credibility of that plan (VISION 2041) and potential for advancing a major hub of economic activity along the estuary”.

The success and recognition of the masterplan to date reflects the skill of HRA PLANNING in spatial, economic and environmental masterplanning.
