Environmental Planning Services
The potential effects on the environment are a critical consideration in all plans and projects, whether it is a development project, a spatial development plan or a community initiative.
In addition to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), there is now greater requirement to undertake ‘Appropriate Assessment’ in respect to specific plans and development projects. Amendments to the planning legislation in 2010 complicate the process further specifically in relation to for example existing quarry operators or projects that do not currently have the benefit of planning permission.
HRA | PLANNING can provide consolidated clarity between the overlapping planning and environmental legislative requirements in respect to plans and development projects on a site specific basis and can present clear and robust recommendations to address potential issues.
We are experienced and qualified in undertaking EIA and, preparing and reviewing EISs for complex projects in ecologically sesnitive locations. We have undertaken and reviewed SEAs as part of our Plan making services and have already enagaged in a number of Natura Impact Statements as part of the AA process in order to design or assess developments in the context of European Directives.
