change of use from ‘holiday-home’ to ‘permanent’ residential use

HRA PLANNING has recently secured planning permission for change of use from ‘tourism use’ to ‘permanent’ residential use on what was a large-scale former ‘celtic-tiger‘ commercial hotel project situated in a rural area, and on un-zoned land.

This recent decision secured by HRA PLANNING resulted in a change to previous conditional use of the residential development which had been constructed as part at hotel project with restricted occupational use to short-term tourism/rental use.

The success of this Planning-led approach will be of particular interest to property investors and fund managers looking to consider alternative uses in similar situations, or in examining opportunities arising from legacy commercial projects (and planning permissions) in rural areas.
