HRA PLANNING has been appointed to assist the consultant team tasked by Limerick City and County Council in examining the feasibility and development options to re-open the Castleconnell Footbridge, also known as Plassey Bridge over the river Shannon which closed following adverse flooding on the Shannon in 2009.

The bridge is located within the River Shannon cSAC Natura 2000 site designated for its aquatic and terrestrial features of conservation interest, and is a Protected Structure.

HRA PLANNING has been retained to provide planning and environmental impact assessment services to the engineering design team to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Acts and Regulations, and, with the EU Habitats Directive assessment.
